Dr.
Gina McCray
Dr. Gina McCray is a
native of Southern Maryland and has been practicing general
dentistry since 1987. She performs all aspects of family
dental care and her special interests include periodontal
therapy, cosmetic and implant dentistry, as well as children's dental care.
Dr.
McCray is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University
of Maryland Dental School, in Baltimore. She is a member
of both scholastic and prosthodontic honor societies and has
also been awarded the Nathan David Gold Award for
"Conscientious and Enthusiastic Dedication to Clinical
Practice". Dr. McCray is a Member of
the
American Dental Association,
the
Maryland State Dental Association,
the
Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry,
and the
Crown Council. Dr. McCray is devoted to patient education
and preventive dental care for good long term dental health.
It is her philosophy that to be able to address the patient's
needs and develop a superior long term result, the dentist
must be able to take the time to be a good listener and give
the patient the personal attention they deserve. In
addition, Dr. McCray continually investigates the latest
techniques available in modern dentistry.
Dr. McCray was raised in Southern
Anne Arundel County where her father and family retired after
23 years in the Air Force. Dr. McCray has maintained her
general dentistry practice in Mechanicsville since 1994.
Her hobbies include
family activities, racquetball, gardening, cooking,
photography, theater and traveling. She currently
resides in Huntingtown with her husband, Milton, and her twin
daughters, Audrey and Kara. |
Dottie
Bellerose, R.D.H.
(Registered Dental Hygienist)
was born in Washington D.C. and spent her formative years
growing up in Temple Hills, MD. She graduated from Potomac
Senior High in 1975 and received her Bachelors of Science
Degree in dental hygiene in 1979 from the University of
Maryland Dental School (the first dental school in the
world.) She received the Alpha Omega Award for exemplifying
the qualities of humanitarianism, ethical standards, and
devotion to the profession. Dottie believes that prevention
and patient education are two of the keys ingredients to
successful periodontal therapy. She continues to further her
education by taking courses in the treatment of various
types of periodontal diseases as well as managing
periodontal diseases in diabetically compromised patients.
In addition, Dottie is dental radiology licensed and
infection control and CPR certified. Dottie’s hobbies
include swimming, reading, and watersports at the beach. She
cherishes the time she spends with her family in LaPlata,
Maryland where she resides. She is very involved with her
church and believes that her faith gives her an added
ability to help patients feel comfortable with the dentistry
they deserve. It is not uncommon to hear Dottie’s contagious
laugh resonate throughout the office and put everyone in
such an uplifted spirit!

Carol Thorp, R.D.H. (Registered
Dental Hygienist)
was born in Pennsylvania and raised in New Jersey. She
received her Bachelors of Science Degree in dental hygiene
from Old Dominion University in 1983. She has extensive
experience working with periodontal patients and is
excellent at communicating the importance of home
periodontal maintenance to the patients’ overall health.
Carol has special interests in periodontal treatment of
patients with systemic illnesses like diabetes and
cardiovascular diseases. Carol is a great listener and her
compassionate and caring demeanor gives her the unique
ability to provide excellent quality care in a pain free
environment. For the last seven years Carol has resided in
Port Republic with her husband and two children. She enjoys
traveling, skiing, biking, scuba diving, and cross-stitch.
She is very involved with her church as well as her
children’s PTA organizations. You will be amazed at the
wonderful difference she will make in your smile!

Rita Springer, R.D.H.
(Registered Dental Hygienist) has been a valued member of the St. Mary’s Dental
team since 1995. She graduated in 1966 from Ohio State
University with a B.A. in Spanish. She received her dental
hygiene degree from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery.
Rita has extensive experience in periodontal therapy,
especially as it relates to various systemic diseases such
as heart disease and diabetes. Her special interests include
early detection and management of patient’s with oral
cancer. She has been married for over 38 years to her
husband Dick, a Veterinarian in Clinton and has three grown
children. In addition to being a “people person”, Rita
enjoys gardening, seasonal crafts, reading, and cooking. |
Betty
Ratliff (Clinical
Supervisor) is a life long resident of Maryland and
has lived in St. Mary’s County for many years. Betty has
been a valued member of the St. Mary’s Dental team since
2003; however, she has over 25 years of experience in the
dental field as both a General Dental Assistant and a
Certified Orthodontic Assistant. She believes in providing
quality patient care in a warm and friendly environment.
Betty enjoys being in our office where patients receive the
highest standard of care available and where the staff
listens to the patient’s needs. Betty is certified in dental
radiology, CPR, Invisalign and is working towards her
Maryland State Board general dental assisting license. Betty
continues to update her clinical skills with regular
continuing education courses in restorative and cosmetic
dentistry.
Betty resides in Park Hall with her
husband of 25 years, Glenn, her daughter, Hollie, and her
black Labrador retriever, Chance. Along with spending time
with her family and friends, Betty loves gardening,
decorating, and collecting antiques.

Katy
Lawrence-Galloway
(Scheduling Supervisor) was born and raised in Virginia
Beach, where she began her career as a dental assistant when
she was in high school. After relocating to St. Mary’s
County with her husband back in 2007, she joined the St.
Mary’s Dental team as the Scheduling Supervisor. Her
experience as a dental assistant combined with her
organizational skills has made her a definite asset to the
front desk staff. She is a very good listener and
understands the patient’s individual scheduling needs. She
takes the time to get to know each of her patients so that
they get the dentistry they want and need. Katy has been
married for six years and enjoys spending time with her
family kayaking, baking, and doing crafts. |
MolliJo
Russell (Business
Manager) started with St. Mary's Dental as a dental
assistant , where her chairside clinical skills was
exemplary. Molli is licensed in dental radiology, as well as
infection control and CPR certified. Molli's expertise as a
chairside dental assistant allows her a greater
understanding of the various procedures performed by the
dentist. As a result of that understanding, patients are
better able to maximize their dental insurance benefits.
Molli is warm, friendly and eager to help the patients
afford the kind of dentistry they deserve. Molli is a native
of St. Mary's County and ,in her spare time, enjoys spending
time with her friends and family. She looks forward to
providing you and your family with exceptional service from

Audrey
McCray
is a
Neurobiology and Physiology major at University of Maryland,
College Park. She will be attending the University of
Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery to pursue a
degree in Dental Hygiene in August 2010. After completing
her B.S. in Dental Hygiene, she plans to attain her Master's
Degree in Dental Hygiene Education. She continues to work as
a dental assistant at St. Mary's Dental. Her interests
include a study of the association between heart disease and
adult Periodontal Diseases. In her spare time, Audrey enjoys
salsa dancing, playing piano, tennis, soccer, and flag
football.

Kara
McCray
will be
receiving her B.S. in Neurobiology and Physiology from the
University of Maryland, College Park in May 2010. She has
been accepted into the University of Maryland, Baltimore
College of Dental Surgery and anticipates graduating with
her D.D.S. degree in 2014. Her interests include cosmetic
and implant dentistry as well as orthodontics. In her spare
time, she plays piano, soccer, flag football, racquetball,
softball, and goes Latin dancing. She continues to work
part-time at St. Mary's Dental as a dental assistant. |
